Our music education classes are based on the recognition that all children are endowed with some form of musical ability. With proper encouragement and guidance, all children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and to actively participate with confidence in the music of our culture.

Our belief is that music can be used as a springboard for helping to instill character traits necessary for life such as:
• Teaching life-skill values
• Inspiring creativity
• Increase personal perception
• Team work

The goal of our organization, In This Together Development Inc, is to launch the In This Together Music Program in the Spring of 2011. We are in the process of gathering the resources to make this launch as effective and sustainable as possible. The In This Together Music Program will be offered to middle school students from the Baltimore City region. Our program targets at-risk youth living in underfunded communities. We are using music as the primary medium for reaching young people and helping them channel their challenges in an alternative way that is positive, structured, and long lasting.

• Early musical training helps to develop those brain areas involved in language adaptation and reasoning skills.
• There is also a causal link between music and spatial intelligence (the ability to perceive the world accurately and to form mental pictures of things).
